The Tabor men?s basketball team split two games last week for a 2-1 record for the season.
Avila?Tabor used a late second-half burst to defeat Avila, 83-81, Saturday in the Bluejays? first home game of the season.
Tabor trailed 43-40 at halftime and faced a 74-68 deficit with under six minutes left to play.
But Dewayne Biggs narrowed the gap to 74-72 with a dunk, and a basket by D?Marco Smith evened the score at 74-74.
Brent Jackson used a spin move to give Tabor a 76-74 lead, and the Bluejays held on to win by two.
Four Bluejays scored in double digits, led by Biggs with 18 points. Robbie Samuel added 17, Jackson 12 and Nick Sauer 10.
Oklahoma Wes?leyan?Victory was within reach Tuesday, but the Tabor men lost to 13th-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan, 79-78, on a last-second basket.
The Bluejays enjoyed a 41-35 margin at halftime.
The Owls led by four points late in the game, but Tabor tied it with baskets by Nick Sauer and Robbie Samuel. Samuel was fouled on his basket, and his free throw gave Tabor a 78-77 lead with 15 seconds left. But the Owls managed to score with one second on the clock to take the win.
Lance Carter led the Blue?jays with 18 points. Sauer contributed 13 and JT Nemit, 10.
Coming?Tabor will play at Central Missouri State tonight at 7:30 p.m., then will host No. 13 Oklahoma Wes?leyan Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
