The Tabor College baseball team has been selected to finish first in the 2016 KCAC baseball coaches? preseason poll released last week.
The Bluejays received eight first-place votes and a total of 97 points to finish ahead of Oklahoma Wesleyan (88 points, 1 first-place vote) and Sterling (85, 1).
York (70), Kansas Wesleyan (54), Friends (46), Bethany (43), Saint Mary (30), Ottawa (23) and McPherson (10)?complete the poll.
Last season, Tabor won its fourth-consecutive KCAC regular-season title with a 22-6 conference record. The Bluejays defeated Kansas Wesleyan to win the KCAC tournament.
Tabor then won the NAIA Opening Round Bellevue bracket to advance to the NAIA World Series for the second consecutive year.
Tabor went 1-2 at the World Series and finished seventh in the NAIA Postseason Top 25 poll.
The Bluejays tallied an all-time best 54 wins (and only 12 losses), making them the winningest team in school history.
