The Tabor women?s basketball team ended its season with a 67-40 loss to Southwestern in Winfield in the quarterfinals of the KCAC tournament Wednesday.
After a defensive struggle early on in which there was a four-minute scoreless stretch, Southwestern went on an 18-4 run to take a 29-13 lead with 4:10 left to play in the first half.
The Moundbuilders continued to build their lead, opening a 60-30 lead with 5:30 left to play. Shortly after taking the large advantage, Southwestern cleared its bench.
Tabor committed 27 turnovers and was almost doubled in rebounding numbers by Southwestern. The Bluejays grabbed 31 rebounds, while Southwestern pulled down 59, 32 offensive. Off the offensive rebounds, the Moundbuilders scored 20 second-chance points.
Jasmine Manuel scored a game-high 14 points for Southwestern. Sara Maxwell added 10. Tynan Honn led the Bluejays with 12 points.
Tabor finishes its season 6-23.
