Tabor volleyball five-game win streak ends with Friends match

The Tabor College volleyball team completed a five-match winning streak last week before falling to Friends University Saturday in Wichita.

The Bluejays finished the week 3-1.

Tabor started the week with a 30-28, 25-11, 19-25, 25-22 win over McPherson. Cortney Janzen led Tabor with 13 kills. Tina Frick added 10. Hollister Wolf finished with 25 set assists and Madi Phillips had 23. Jessica Dixon contributed 26 digs.

After taking a two-set lead Thursday against Kansas Wesleyan, 25-22, 25-15, Tabor lost the next two, 22-25, 19-25. In the final set, Tabor won, 15-12, to complete a five-game winning streak.

The streak ended at Friends when the Bluejays were swept, 10-25, 27-25, 10-25.

Tina Frick and Jessie Vogts had six kills each. Wolf had nine set assists and Phillips finished with eight.

Tabor bounced back Saturday at Friends with a five-set win over Mid America Christian, 25-22, 25-15, 21-25, 17-25, 18-16.

Phillips led Tabor with 38 assists. Vogts and Janzen had 11 kills each. Dixon contributed 16 digs and Wolf 11.

Coming?Tabor (10-11, 7-4) traveled to Lindsborg Tuesday to play Bethany College and will host Southern Nazarene Friday for homecoming weekend. Friday?s match will begin at 4:30 p.m.
