Tabor track battles at two meets

Tabor College track and field found success on the road, competing at the Enduro Classic at Friends University April 2 before traveling to the ACCK meet at Bethany College Saturday.

Bethany?-The Tabor men took second overall behind Bethany College with 152 points. The Tabor women placed second overall behind Bethany College with 124 points.

Brandon Gooden, Matt Spurgeon, Nathan Vogel and Justin Ball won the 4×400 in 3 minutes, 29 seconds. Spurgeon, Vogel, Ball and Dylan Crawford took first in the 4×800 in 8:14.

Yvonne Brubacher, Emily Post, Jessica Yraceburu and Makenzie King of Tabor placed second in the 4×100 in 53.48.

King, Julia Carlton, Brielle Lund,and Tessa Siebert took third for the Bluejays in the 4×400 in 4:29.77.

Brubacher took third in the 100 with a time of 13.70. King took second in the 400 in 1:04.62.

Siebert placed second in the 800 in 2:28 and Lund took third in the 5,000 in 21:46.09. Elissa Richert placed third in the 1,000 in 52:50.

In field events, Post took third in the high jump by clearing 1.60 meters, Brubacher won the pole vault at 2.89 and Jessica Yraceburu placed second at 2.59.

Post placed third in the long jump with a leap of 5.20 and won the Triple Jump at 11.10.

Tynan Honn won in the shot put at 12.24 while Megan McCarty took third in the hammer throw at 37.53.

For the men, Gooden won the 200 in 23.10 and the 400 in 50.63. Vogel took third in the 400 at 53.08.

Ball took second in the 800 with a time of 2:01.28. Jacob Heil took third in the 5,000 in 18:31, won the 1,000 in 50:26 and placed second in the 3,000 in 11:00.

Ryan Chippeaux claimed third in the high jump by clearing 1.95 meters. He also took first in javelin at 51.85 while David Loewen placed third at 51.47.

Aaron Munsch won the shot put at 13.74 and Michael Klaassen placed second at 13.6. Tristan Burrow took second in the hammer throw at 44.82 and Klaassen was third at 43.50.

Friends Invitational?One Tabor team won in the men?s 4×400 in 3:26.98 and the other team took seventh in 3:45.39. Tabor was third in the 4×100 in 43.21.

The Bluejay women placed fifth in the 4×400 in 4:30.06 and third in the 4×100 in 53.96

Tessa Siebert took third in the 800 in 2:29.

Yvonne Brubacher took second in the women?s pole vault at 10-0. Jasmine Peggese took third in the hammer throw at 39.49 meters. Emily Post was second in the high jump at 1.55 and placed third in the long jump at 5.10. Makenzie King took seventh at 4.6. Post won the triple jump at 11.25.

?Emily Post had a good early season meet, winning the triple jump with a jump just 2 inches from the national qualifying standard,? coach David Kroeker said. ?Early-season meets are for development purposes.?

For the men, Ryan Chip?peaux took third in the high jump by clearing 1.91 meters. Tristan Burrow took third in the hammer throw in 44.16.

Jacob Heil took second in the 3.000-meter steeplechase in 11:03 and Justin Ball was third in the 800 in 2:00.

Brandon Gooden took first in the 400 meters in 50.09 while Justin Ball was second in 50.12.

Ishmael Morris took first in the 100 in 10.88. Gooden took third in the 200 in 22.51.

Mickey Polley placed second in the pole vault by clearing 13-0.

Coming?The Tabor track team is not scheduled to compete this week.
