With three wins last week, the Tabor volleyball team wrapped up regular season play with a 16-2 KCAC record to share the conference title with Kansas Wesleyan. The Bluejays are 24-6 overall and advance to the 2013 volleyball championships this week as the No. 2 seed.
Bethany?Tabor gained a three-set victory at Bethany Saturday, 25-23, 25-17, 25-12.
Jessie Vogts led the attack with a game-high 13 kills. KCAC Setter of the Week Holli Wolf had 36 assists, and KCAC Libero of the Week Amy Jo Maphet recorded 12 digs. Tena Loewen added one solo block.
Sterling?The Bluejays defeated Sterling in three sets Wednesday (25-19, 25-14, 25-18).
Tena Loewen and Katelin Horstick each contributed 10 kills. Holli Wolf had 36 assists, and Amy Jo Maphet had 15 digs.
Friends?Tabor outlasted the Falcons at home Nov. 4 in five sets.
Tabor started things off with a 25-23 victory. Friends evened the count with a 25-22 win in Set 2 and gained the advantage with a 25-21 victory in the third set.
With the score tied at 22 in Set 4, Tabor secured the 25-22 win with three straight points. The Bluejays then won Set 5, 15-13.
Katie Kaufman led with a game-high 27 kills. Katelin Horstick added 15 and Tena Loewen and Jessie Vogts each contributed 12.
Holli Wolf had 60 assists, Amy Jo Maphet managed 36 digs, and Loewen, Kaufman and Courtney Erwin each recorded a solo block.
Coming?Tabor was scheduled to play a quarterfinal match against No. 7 Southwestern (4-14, 6-23) Tuesday. The winner will face either No. 3 Ottawa (14-4, 19-13)?or No. 6 Sterling (9-9, 18-16) in a semifinal match at 8 p.m. Friday. The highest advancing seed is scheduled to host the match.
In the top half of the bracket, No. 1 Kansas Wesleyan (16-2, 24-12) will host No. 8 Saint Mary (4-14, 11-25), while No. 4 Friends (14-4, 25-12)?will host No. 5 McPherson (9-9, 19-17).
The championship match is scheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m. and will be hosted by the highest advancing seed.
