Tabor tennis teams start season with 2-3 mark

Tabor College tennis teams began their season sharing a record of 2-3 through the first week.

The Bluejay men started Tuesday with an 8-1 win over Central Christian College in Hillsboro.

They followed with three losses in three days: 9-0 at Emporia State and 8-1 against William Jewel College Thurs?day; and 5-4 to Concordia University Friday in Hillsboro.

Tabor finished the week by beating John Brown University, 9-0, Saturday in Hillsboro.

The Tabor women followed a similar pattern. They defeated Central Christian College, 9-0, Tuesday, then lost to Emporia State, 9-0, Wednesday, to Willam Jewell College, 8-1, Thursday and Concordia University, 8-1.

Tabor finished the week with a 6-3 win against John Brown University Saturday.

The Tabor tennis teams will play Newman Tuesday at the Riverside Tennis Complex in Wichita.

Thursday they will travel to Baldwin City to face Baker University.
