Tabor softball players garner KCAC honors

Six Tabor College softball players have received All-KCAC honors for this past season.

Sophomore Taylor Funk, the Bluejays? everyday catcher, was named to the first team. She racked up 53 hits this season, including six home runs and 36 runs batted in. She also scored 44 runs.

Freshman Kyleen Condon received second-team honors, batting .442 with 65 hits and 51 runs batted in.

Receiving honorable mention were senior Margaret Cornish, junior Amanda Howe and freshmen Ashly Hernandez and Madie Simpson.

As a pitcher, Hernandez led the conference in wins and innings pitched with 180, and was third in strikeouts with 91.

The Bluejays finished the season with the most wins in school history with a roster of 12 underclassmen.

The Bluejays led the KCAC in team batting average, slugging percentage, runs scored, runs batted in, doubles and home runs.
