Tabor softball goes 2-2 over spring break

The Tabor College softball team went 2-2 last week. The Bluejays dropped two games to Oklahoma Wesleyan on the road Friday, then swept Hillsdale Free Will Baptist at home Saturday.

In Game 1 of Saturday?s doubleheader, Tabor shut out Hillsdale, 18-0. The Bluejays scored seven runs in the third inning.

Amanda Howe and Ashly Hernandez led the Bluejays with four RBIs each. Alex Pike contributed two. Hernandez also posted a home run.

Hernandez got the win for Tabor, pitching five innings and allowing two hits, no runs and striking out six.

Tabor crushed Hillsdale in Game 2, 32-4.

Kyleen Condon led the Bluejays with five RBIs and five runs scored. Jordan Yost, Courtney Meister and Madie Simpson each had four RBIs, and Melisa Cruz and Rae?Shon Johnson each had three.

Simpson, Yost and Condon each hit a home run.

Condon won the game for the Bluejays, pitching five innings and allowing six hits, four runs and striking out four.

Tabor lost Game 1 to Oklahoma Wesleyan, 1-2, before losing 1-5 in the second game. Details were not available for these games.

Coming?The Bluejays were scheduled to begin conference play at home Tuesday, March 30, when they play a doubleheader at home against Sterling College.

Tabor will then hit the road, traveling to Friends University on Wednesday for a doubleheader.
