Tabor softball goes 0-4 with losses to NWOS and MidAmerica

A struggling Tabor softball team dropped to 0-4 this week after losing double-headers with Northwestern Oklahoma State Feb. 22 and MidAmerica Nazarene Saturday.

MidAmerica?Tabor lost Game 1 Saturday, 6-3 when the team was unable to overcome MidAmerica?s five runs in the first two innings.

Amanda Howe and Alysha Carter had one run-batted-in each. Tracie Kithcart pitched 2.1 innings and allowed five hits, five runs, and struck out three. Karen Harris pitched 3.1 innings, allowing one hit, one run, while striking out two.

In Game 2, the Bluejays lost, 3-2, after an eighth-inning run by MidAmerica broke the tie.

Sarah Massey led Tabor with a home run and one RBI, and Kyleen Condon added an RBI. Harris pitched 7.1 innings and allowed nine hits, three runs, and struck out three.

Northwestern?Tabor lost Game 1 to Northwestern, 10-2, after the victor?s seven-run surge in the final inning.

Taylor Funk led Tabor with a home run and two RBIs. Tracie Kithcart pitched 4.2 innings and allowed eight hits and eight runs.

Northwestern won Game 2, 8-3, with two four-run innings.

Funk had two RBIs and a home run, with Chloe Haffley adding an RBI. Kyleen Condon pitched five innings, allowing five hits, six runs, and striking out two.

Karen Harris pitched one inning, allowing three hits, two runs and striking out one.

Coming?The Bluejays were scheduled to compete in the Friends University Tournament this weekend. They are slated to play MidAmerica Nazarene, Graceland University and Okla?homa Wesleyan University Friday and Central Methodist College, Saint Gregory?s University and Haskell Indian Nations University Saturday.

Games begin at 9: 30 a.m. Friday and 1:30 pm. Saturday.
