Tabor softball 2-2 for the week

The Tabor College softball team swept and then were swept in doubleheaders against Okla?homa Wesleyan University Tuesday, and at Kansas Wes?leyan the next day.

The 2-2 week brings the Bluejays? record to 20-20.

Kansas Wesleyan?The Bluejays dropped Game 1 against the Coyotes, 3-0.

Ashly Hernandez pitched six innings in the loss, allowing eight hits and three runs, while striking out none.

In Game 2, Tabor was shut out, 4-0. Kyleen Condon pitched four innings in the loss, allowing 10 hits, four runs while striking out three. Hernandez pitched two innings.

?Kansas Wesleyan was a disappointment for us,? coach Suzanne Unruh said. ?I was confident we could win at least one game, but it didn?t turn out that way.?

Oklahoma Wesleyan?Though Oklahoma Wesleyan scored first and had a four-run sixth inning in Game 1, Tabor won, 6-5. The Bluejays won Game 2 by an identical score.

?Those were two really good games for us, since they?d beat us three times before,? coach Suzanne Unruh said.

Alysha Carter had a home run and two runs batted in for the Bluejays, while teammates Taylor Funk and Rae?Shon Johnson each contributed one RBI.

Ashly Hernandez pitched seven innings, allowing seven hits and five runs while striking out four.

A four-run fourth inning lifted Tabor to victory in the second game.

Taylor Funk posted a home run and had three RBIs. Alysha Carter had two RBIs.

Kyleen Condon pitched 51?3 innings, allowing eight hits and five runs, while striking out two.

Ashly Hernandez pitched 12?3 innings to pick up the win. She allowed two hits, no runs and struck out none.

Coming?The Bluejays were scheduled to play at University of Saint Mary Tuesday, before playing Central Christian College at home Thurs?day.

This Saturday, they are scheduled to play Southwestern College at home for Senior Day.

?For the rest of the season, we have conference games,? coach Suzanne Unruh said. ?I?m hoping for a good week this week. We have six games.

?We?re almost to the conference tournament, so we really want to hit our peak this week.?
