Tabor soccer teams pick up two wins each

The Tabor men?s and women?s soccer teams both went 2-0 this week.

The men earned a 1-0 overtime win versus Manhattan Christian College Sept. 21 before defeating Central Christian College, 3-0.

The women defeated Manhat?tan Christian 3-0 before getting a 2-1 overtime win against CCC.

The victories put the men?s team at 6-2 for the season?the best record in the Kansas Colle?gi?ate Athletic Conference?and the women are 4-4.

Manhattan Christian?The men?s team got the win thanks to a goal by David Simmet at 92:15.

For the women, Jessica Renzelman scored at 25:32 with an assist from Molly Coppadge. Coppadge scored at 53:12 to make it 2-0, then scored another goal at 85:39 off an assist from Renzel?man.

Goal keeper Kalee Cross recorded three saves for the Blue??jays.

Central Christian?The men?s team earned its first goal in the first half when Jordan Maska put the ball in the net at 11:34 off a Rafael Marins assist.

Tabor scored twice in the second half. Shermon Davis tallied a goal at 57:02 with an assist from David Simmet, and then Marins scored at 65:48 off a Giovanni Martinez assist.

Goal keeper Dalton Burkhard had four saves for the Bluejays.

Megan Beals scored first for the women at 45:00 in the second half. Stephanie Street from CCC tied it at 80:01 to send the game into overtime, where Kylie Campbell scored the winning goal at 97:59.

Kylee Cross had four saves on the night.

Coming?The Bluejays play at Sterling College Saturday. The women?s game begins at 1 p.m. and the men play at 3 p.m.
