Tabor men?s soccer loses two KCAC games

The Tabor College men?s soccer team lost to Bethany Saturday, 3-1.

Bethany claimed momentum early by scoring a goal in the first minute of play. The Swedes added a goal in the 26th minute to enjoy a 2-0 halftime lead.

Bethany scored its final goal in the 64th minute off a corner kick. Tabor scored five minutes later when Bransyn Felty found the back of the net, assisted by Agustin Ariza.

Tabor outshot Bethany, 14-12, but the Swedes held the advantage in shots on goal, 8-6. Goalkeeper Bryson Henry had five saves.

McPherson?Tabor lost a 4-3 contest Wednesday. McPherson took a 2-0 lead with a pair of goals within the first 23 minutes of play.

Agustin Ariza put Tabor on the board with a goal in the 30th minute, making the halftime score 2-1 in favor of the Bulldogs.

McPherson extended its lead by scoring off a corner kick in the 56th minute, but Tabor answered three minutes later when Manuel Miranda-Cortez made it 3-2 after scoring on a penalty kick.

The Bulldogs scored their final goal in the 71st minute. Tabor managed its third goal with 7:07 left in the game when Bransyn Felty kicked the ball in off an assist by Jose Ruano.

Tabor outshot McPherson, 19-18, including 9-6 shots on goal. Goalkeeper Bryson Henry had two saves.

Coming?Tabor (5-6, 2-2) welcomes Kansas Wesleyan (3-0, 6-5) to Hillsboro today for a 7:30 p.m. game. The Bluejays will play at Sterling (0-4, 1-10-1) Saturday at 3 p.m.
