Tabor men?s soccer gets two shutouts

 Tabor midfielder Joe Lopez (12)?fights for possession between two Southwestern Christian athletes Saturday. The Tabor men earned a 1-0 victory in double overtime to conclude the week with two shutout victories. The Tabor men?s soccer team earned two victories last week, improving to 6-2 on the season, while the women went 1-1, for a 3-4 overall record.

SW Christian?It took two overtime periods for a team to score a goal in the men?s game against Southwestern Christian Saturday.

The Bluejays won, 1-0, when Arturo Golembiewski scored at 101:47, assisted by Robert Escobar.

Tabor outshot SCU 22-12.

Goalkeeper Antoine Williams had five saves and repeats as KCAC Defensive Player of the Week.

Central Methodist?The Tabor women dropped a 6-2 decision to Central Methodist Friday.

After CMU took a two-goal lead, Tabor evened the score at halftime on two goals by KCAC Offensive Player of the Week Jessica Renzelman. Yolli Aasheim-Conner was credited with the assist on the second score.

CMU blanked Tabor in the second half, putting up four more goals for the 6-2 win. CMU out-shot Tabor 18-11. Tabor goalkeeper Amber Mayer had seven saves.

Central Christian?Both Tabor teams recorded victories over Central Christian Wednesday night.

The Tabor men earned a 6-0 shutout, scoring three goals each half. Scoring for Tabor were Bransyn Felty?who repeats as KCAC Offensive Player of the Week?Philipp Wahl, Adam Morley and Trevor Peters. Four Bluejays had one assist or more:?Yago Salton, Marian Saar, Michel Matias and Robert Escobar.

Tabor outshot Central Christian 23-9. Tabor goalkeeper Antoine Williams had three saves.

The Tabor women won, 4-1. Jessica Renzelman got the Bluejays on the board first, and Molly Clark followed with a second goal, assisted by Ashtyn Stephens.

Central Christian narrowed the lead to 2-1 by halftime, but Tabor added two more scores in the second half with a team score, followed by a goal by Wendy Ramirez, assisted by Kaitlyn Wells.

Tabor outshot Central Christian 16-8. Goalkeeper Carly Rowan had four saves.

Coming?Tabor will host Oklahoma Wesleyan Satur?day. The women?s game is set for 1 p.m., followed by the men at 3:30 p.m.
