Tabor inks 4, 2 for men?s soccer

Women?s basketball?Brianne Greene of Littleton, Colo., has signed a letter of intent to participate in women?s basketball at Tabor College for the 2007-2008 season.

?We are excited that Brianne has decided to continue her basketball career at Tabor,? coach Shawn Winter said. ?Brianne will bring strong leadership and an outstanding Christian commitment to our basketball program and campus. We are thrilled that Brianne is coming to Tabor,? he added.

A 5-feet, 6-inches guard, Greene, played for Collegiate Academy of Colorado.

Greene posted the team?s best field goal percentage in her junior season.

Greene also graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors.

Football?Kyle Townsend of Owasso, Okla., has signed a letter of intent to participate in football at Tabor College.

?Kyle is a very personable fellow,? head coach Mike Gottsch said. ?He possesses a solid work ethic in addition to a super personality. I am very pleased he has committed to Tabor College to further his education and to play football.?

Owasso High School posted a 10-2 record during Townsend?s senior season and played in the state semifinal game for the first time in 25 years.

At 5 feet, 11 1⁄2 inches and 176 pounds, Townsend played as slot receiver.

Soccer?Josh Henderson and Jason Hildebrandt, both of Wichita, have signed letters of intent to participate in the men's soccer program at Tabor College, according to head coach Herb Wiebe.

A 6-0 defender, Henderson played for Maize High School. The team posted a 6-11 record in 2006. In 2005, Maize finished third in the state in 6A with a record of 19-2.

?Josh is a good fit for Tabor,? Wiebe said. ?I am looking forward to coaching him next year and watching him develop into a good player.?

Hildebrandt was a mid-fielder at Maize.

Wiebe said that ?Jason is a true student athlete…he brings a top-notch academic record to Tabor, and he will also contribute on the field of play.?

?I am truly looking forward to having Jason on our team,? Wiebe added.
