Tabor competes at Emporia State

The Tabor College track and field team competed at the Emporia State Relays Saturday.

Alyssa Windle highlighted the meet by setting a new Tabor record in the discus. Her throw of 150 feet, 3 inches achieved the “A” national-qualifying standard and was good for fourth place overall.

Windle also finished second in the shot put (43-71⁄4), a “B” standard distance.

Amy Horner was the only other Bluejay to score points. She placed eighth in the triple jump (36-93⁄4).

Other top-20 women’s finishers were: Rachel Hagen, Ashton Kroeker, Sarah Hagen and Horner, 12th in the 4×100 relay (52.18); Ashton Kroeker, 15th in the triple jump (35-4); and Windle, 18th in the hammer (130-1).

As a team, the women finished 16th of 27 with 14 points. Wichita State won with 1651⁄2.

Meanwhile, the men’s team did not score any points.

Wyatt Dickinson was the highest finisher. He placed ninth in the javelin (172-6).

Other top-20 men’s finishers included Robert Phillips, 14th in the shot put (45-7); Caleb Gaede, 15th in the high jump (6-3⁄4); Daniel Quiring, 18th in the hammer (145-2) and 19th in the shot put (43-91⁄4); and Johnny Loera, 20th in the shot put (41-93⁄4).

Coming—Tabor will compete at the Friends Invitational Friday and Saturday.
