Tabor Bluejays blanked by KU Jayhawks

The Tabor College baseball squad got a bit of a break from the season last week, only playing nine innings of baseball.

The Bluejays lost to Big 12 opponent Kansas 15-0 Wednesday.

At the beginning of the week the Bluejays were scheduled to play back-to-back road games, first at Hoglund in Lawrence, then a nine-inning affair with Fort Hays State in Hays Thursday. Tabor will play the Tigers in Hays, March 24.

To fill the void, Tabor scheduled a Saturday meeting in El Dorado with Valley City State University.

The games were canceled due to rain.

The well-rested Bluejays will resume their season Tuesday at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva.

The Rangers are losers of five of their last seven and are 13-8 this season. NWOSU is coming off a 15-9 victory over Concordia College.

The Bluejays will start KCAC play Friday with a two-day, four-game matchup with Sterling. Tabor will play a doubleheader at home Friday, then will play two games at Sterling Saturday.

Sterling is 5-9 this season, losing a doubleheader last week with Oklahoma Baptist College 8-0 and 7-12.

Tabor starts the week with a 9-6 record.
