Tabor basketball suffers 0-4 week

The Tabor College basketball teams combined for four losses last week.

The men dropped two games at the Hastings College Classic Friday and Saturday.

The Bluejays opened with a 76-66 loss to 23rd-ranked Hastings. Tabor led early, but Hastings used an 11-point run to build a 21-14 lead. The Bluejays trailed 35-25 at halftime. Tabor later tied the game at 42, but could not get over the hump.

Dewayne Biggs led Tabor with 15 points. Andrew Thomas added 14 and Brent Jackson 13.

The Bluejays lost to Doane College Saturday, 77-75. Tabor trailed 45-32 at halftime, but rallied to tie the score at 70 on a basket by Thomas.

Jackson?s three-pointer tied the game at 75 with 17 seconds left, but Doane scored with 4 seconds to go. Tabor?s final shot missed the mark.

Jackson led with a game-high 30 points, followed by Biggs with 17.

Earlier in the week on Tuesday, the Tabor men dropped a 102-80 exhibition game decision to Washburn Univer?sity, while the Bluejay women lost, 86-51, in an exhibition game at Fort Hays State University Saturday.

Coming?Tabor will host its first KCAC opponent, Kansas Wesleyan, on Thurs?day. The women?s team will play at 6 p.m. with the men to follow at 8 p.m. The Bluejays travel to Bethany Saturday. The women play at 5 p.m. and the men at 7 p.m.
