Tabor baseball wins 3 of 5

Winning three of its last five games, the Tabor baseball team improved to 17-10 overall and 6-2 in the KCAC.

Tabor hosted Manhattan Christian College March 23. The Bluejays split with the Crusaders, winning the first game 3-1, and dropping the second 10-9.

In the first game, Wes Stancher got the win, pitching 51?3 innings, striking out five and giving up one earned run. Jake Mays finished 1-for-3 with two runs batted in.

Tabor followed Monday?s doubleheader with a split with Bethany in Lindsborg on Friday. The Bluejays lost the first game 6-4 and won the second one 6-2.

In the second game Will Wood picked up the victory, pitching five innings, striking out four and allowing two earned runs.

Tabor swept the Swedes in Hillsboro on Monday, winning the first game 19-8 and the second game 8-3.

In the first game, Paul Bridenbaugh went 4-for-4 with three RBI. Jake Mays batted 3-for-4 with three RBI.

CJ Hend?rich?sen finished 3-for-4 with one RBI.

In the second game, Tyson Kendrich was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. Jake Mays went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. Nathan Rausch finished 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI.

All the home runs came in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Pitcher Jonathan Murray survived a scare in the top of fourth when a ball hit hard back to the mound caught him in the head. After a check by the Tabor training staff, Murray threw a few warmup pitches but was taken out of the game before play resumed.

Bridenbaugh finished the game, pitching 32?3 innings and allowing one earned run.

Tabor travels to Wichita State to play the Shockers on Wednesday.
