The Tabor College baseball team has won seven straight games to improve to 9-5 heading into a Wednesday meeting with the Kansas Jayhawks at Hoglund Park in Lawrence.
The Bluejays? streak started March 2 with a sweep of Central Christian College in Wichita, 14-4 and 10-3.
Jared DeRusha went 3-for-4 with six RBI in the first game. Nick Trompert pitched four scoreless innings, striking out seven batters in the second game.
Tabor beat Central Christian once more Wednesday, blanking the Tigers 8-0 in Hillsboro.
Tabor returned to action Friday for the first of four games in two days against Dana College in Hillsboro. The Bluejays won two Friday, 12-4 and 4-3, and two more Saturday, 8-7 and 16-5, to complete the sweep.
Kendrick Tyson finished the weekend 9-for-13 with 11 RBI.
After Wednesday?s trip to Lawrence, Tabor will head down I-70 to Hays for one nine-inning game with Fort Hays State.
After winning three of four games against Iowa, Kansas is 7-3. Tabor will be the second KCAC team the Jayhawks will host this week. St. Mary will play at Kansas Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Fort Hays State is 9-3. This will be the second KCAC matchup for the Tigers this season. Bethany traveled to Hays Feb. 18 and was swept, 9-6 and 5-3.
Following the game in Hays, Tabor will not play again until March 16, when the Bluejays hit the road for a doubleheader against Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva.
Tabor begins KCAC play March 19 against Sterling in Hillsboro.
