Swedes spike Bluejays

The Tabor College volleyball team was beaten in its conference opener (19-25, 21-25, 25-10, 25-12, 10-15) Sept. 10 at Bethany.

?Our first two games we lost primarily due to early-season errors and playing out of our system,? coach Amy Ratzlaff said. ?The second two games we played more fundamental volleyball which helped us utilize our talent better,? she added. ?The last game we lost momentum at point seven and could not regain it quickly enough.?

Middle blockers Heather Witham and Cortney Janzen combined for 11 blocks and 18 kills, while outside hitters Carly Kroeker and Ashley Cohlmia led the team in attack percentage (.636 for Kroeker) and total kills (12 for Cohlmia), respectively.

Coming?The Bluejays (0-1, 0-5) hosted Bethel (0-1, 3-3) Tuesday and will host Ottawa (1-0, 2-8) Thursday night, with both matches beginning at 7 p.m.
