Six Bluejays qualified for nationals

The Tabor College track teams increased the number of national qualifiers to six.

With a leap of 38 feet, 71⁄2 inches in the triple jump at the conference championships, Ashley Malcom holds the sixth-best mark at the NAIA level.

This week, Breanna Wray threw the shot 42-2, exceeding last week?s school record performance at the conference mmet by more than a foot.

Shelby Miller improved her own school-record time in the 400-meter dash to 58.50 seconds, but remains a half-second shy of qualifying for the national meet.

The men?s 4×100 team of Andy Bartel, Jeff Anenson, Aaron Jenkins and Hector LaBoy qualified for nationals with a time of 42.25 seconds.

LaBoy qualified for nationals in the 100 individually with 10.60 time at the ACCK meet April 24.

Trent Voth and Nathaniel Porter have also qualified for the NAIA outdoor track and field championships.

Voth qualified for the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.57 at the ACCK meet.

The NAIA outdoor track and field championships will be at Fresno Pacific University May 24-26.
