Sechrist competes for national champion OBU

Hillsboro High School graduate Emily Sechrist turned in two top-six performances to help the Oklahoma Baptist women?s indoor track and field team win the 2016 NCCAA national championship title last weekend.

Sechrist, a freshman at Oklahoma Baptist, finished fourth in the women?s 5,000-meter run with a time of 18 minutes, 10.48 seconds Friday.

She placed sixth in the 3,000 (10:30.96) Saturday.

The Bison finished first as a team with 1831?2 points, ahead of Cedarville (68) and Southern Wesleyan (68).
