KCAC preseason tennis polls released

The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference has released the preseason tennis polls selected by conference coaches.

Women?Tabor was picked to finish fourth in the KCAC behind unanimous first pick McPherson, Ottawa and Southwestern. Kansas Wesleyan, Bethel, Bethany, Friends and Oklahoma Wesleyan round out the poll.

Tabor finished sixth in the KCAC a year ago with a 2-5 record. The Bluejays were 6-9 overall.

Tabor returns sophomore Jessica Emoto, the Bluejays? No. 1 singles player who was a unanimous first-team All-KCAC selection last year and was also named Freshman of the Year.

Emoto ranks first in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association?s Central Region and ranks seventh nationally.

Men?Tabor was picked to finish seventh of nine in the KCAC preseason poll behind McPherson, Bethany, Friends, Kansas Wesleyan, Southwestern and Ottawa. Bethel and Oklahoma Wesleyan complete the poll.

Tabor finished eighth in the KCAC a year ago with an 0-7 record. The Bluejays were 1-13 overall.

Neither Bluejay team qualified for the KCAC tennis championships last year.

Coming?Tabor will kick off competition Friday, Feb. 26 in Lincoln, Neb.
