Hutchinson to host KCAC volleyball tourney

The 2017 KCAC volleyball championship will be played at the Hutchinson Sports Arena Nov. 9-11 as announced by the conference.

The championship will follow a new format similar to the NAIA championship’s final site. The top eight teams after the regular season will be seeded and placed into two, four-team pools. The top two teams from pool play will advance to a single-elimination tournament.

The KCAC also announced the inaugural KCAC mid-season Fall Fling Oct. 13-14 at the Arena.The event will feature six matches per day on two courts, with all 12 member schools playing two KCAC matches each day.

The Hutchinson Sports Arena is undergoing a $30 million renovation to be completed in spring 2017. The updates include new auxiliary gyms, a ticketing area and main entrance and updates to the main arena bowl.
