Hillsboro High School senior Marah Franz signed a letter of intent Nov. 10 to participate in track and field at Tabor College next year. Seated with her are parents Scott and Pam Franz; behind them are Dennis Boldt, track and field head coach at HHS, and Dave Kroeker, track and field head coach at Tabor. Franz is a two-time state champion in pole vault. She claimed the gold medal in Class 2A as a sophomore in 2014 by clearing 10 feet, then won the Class 3A title as a junior this spring by clearing 10 feet, 6 inches, which broke the school record of 10-3 set by Hannah Marsh in 2007. ?We are excited that Marah will be continuing her athletic career here at home,? Boldt said. ?Marah demonstrates excellent technical aspects of the vault. She has dedicated time to her event both in and out of season.?
