Faber earns all-conference recognition

The 2014 All-KCAC tennis selections have been announced by conference tennis coaches.

Becky Faber was honored as Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The junior from Hillsboro was also a second-team All-KCAC selection.

?Becky is an outstanding young lady,? coach John Ruder said. ?As co-captain with Karly Lindroth-Yates, she has supplied tremendous leadership both on and off the court.

?She is a team player and is always working to make the team better.

?As our No. 1 singles and part of our No. 1 doubles team, she leads the way by taking on the toughest players from each team we meet.?

Faber recorded an 8-5 overall record in singles this season, 3-2 in the KCAC. She was 3-11 in doubles.

As a team, the Bluejay women concluded the season with a 2-5 record in the KCAC, 5-7 overall.
