Byrd honored on All-America team

Tabor College freshman pitcher Madison Byrd has received All-America second-team recognition as announced by the NAIA last week.

Byrd led the Bluejays with a KCAC-best ERA of 1.61 over 213 innings of work. She went 24-9 and struck out 262 batters (8.61 per game). Opponents batted .189 against her (143-for-758), a conference-leading statistic. Byrd ranked sixth nationally in saves (4), 11th in wins, 12th in innings pitched, 16th in both opponents’ batting average and hits allowed per game (4.7) and 38th in ERA.

She helped lead the Bluejays to a 15-7, fourth-place finish in the KCAC. Tabor concluded the season with an overall record of 33-19.
