Bluejays go 1-2, split conference matches

The Tabor volleyball team went 1-2 last week to put them at 7-7 overall and 3-3 in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.

The Bluejays lost to Bethel College and Southern Nazarene University after beating McPher?son Sept. 21.

Southern Nazarene?Tabor lost this road match 13-25, 14-25, 11-25, Saturday at Bethel College.

Tina Frick and Jessica Wollenburg each knocked down five kills, with Corissa Bartel, Cortney Janzen and Jessie Vogts each adding four. Hollister Wolf had 12 digs.

Bethel?The Bluejays fell to Bethel, 22-25, 25-27, 19-25. Jessie Vogts sled Tabor with 16 kills and Tina Frick added seven.

The team combined for 11 blocks. Vogts, Frick and Cortney Janzen each had a solo block.

McPherson?Tabor started slowly against McPherson Sept. 21, losing the first game 22-25 before rallying to win the next three 25-16, 25-17, 25-17.

Tina Frick and Jessie Vogts each pounded 15 kills, helped by 39 assists from Hollister Wolf. Cortney Janzen and Jessica Wollenburg contributed eight and seven kills, respectively.

On defense, Amy Jo Maphet posted 16 digs, with Hollie Tabor, Jessie Dixon and Wolf contributing 13, 12 and 11. Frick had six blocks and Bartel five.

Coming?Tabor was scheduled to take on conference opponent Kansas Wesleyan at home Sept. 27 before traveling to a KCAC match Thursday at Friends University.
