McPherson’s final two points came via Tabor error, but following a 26-26 tie, a kill by Loewen and a Bulldog error gave the Bluejays the win.

“It surprises me that we come out flat at home, but at the same time, we came out flat and then we tried too hard,” coach Amy Ratzlaff said. “When they’re not playing well, they do respond, but sometimes then they over-respond and then we have all these errors. Then we have to back off and just play the game, and they did.”

Tabor recorded 65 kills, led by Loewen with 30 on .343 hitting. Keeley Kroeker had 35 assists. Ali Jost had 32 digs. Miranda Leibold had two solo blocks.

In front, 14-9, Tabor burst to the finish by outscoring the Bulldogs, 11-1. “We played really well on Monday,” coach Amy Ratzlaff said. “(That) game was maybe the best I’ve seen us play. We played smooth and played together. It was so much fun. Our defense and our offense were equally as aggressive.”

Horner led the attack with 16 kills on .387 hitting. Megan Voth had 24 assists. Ali Jost had 21 digs.
