Bluejay women go 2-0 in soccer

The Tabor College women?s soccer team earned two victories last week to improve to 4-2 on the season.

The Bluejays defeated Manhattan Christian Friday, 2-0.

Ashtyn Stephens put the Bluejays on the board with a goal in the 22nd minute. After halftime, Nicole Stevenson scored in the 65th minute, assisted by Stephens.

Tabor outshot MCC 29-4. The Bluejays had 16 shots on goal. MCC?had none.

Southwestern Christian?Tabor earned a 1-0 victory Tuesday. Hannah Simmons scored the game?s only goal during the ninth minute. She was assisted by Nicole Stevenson.

?Nicole worked the ball into the left corner and powered the ball into the box,? coach Ian Thomson said. ?Hannah just turned and hit it. It was a great ball from Nicole; she set Hannah up really well.?

SCU outshot Tabor 14-12. Both teams had five shots on goal. Goalkeeper Kalee Cross, who was named KCAC defensive player of the week, had four saves.

Coming?Tabor (4-2) was scheduled to host Saint Gregory?s Tuesday and will host Bacone Saturday at noon.
