The Tabor College softball team went 2-2 last week to move to 4-9 on the season.
Dordt?Tabor swept the Defenders in a doubleheader Saturday.
The Bluejays won Game 1, 5-2.
Tabor plated two runs in the second inning off one hit and an error. Bailey Burnett hit a two-out single, advanced twice on wild pitches, and scored via error. Ashton Bowen, who had reached on a walk, also scored on the error.
The Bluejays added a run off one hit in the fourth inning. This time, Burnett led off with a single. Pinch runner Devon Fisk-Aguilar scored on Sara Vela?s sacrifice fly.
Tabor scored twice more in the fifth off a hit and a pair of errors.
Dordt got on the board with two runs in the top of the sixth.
Burnett was 2-for-2 at-bat. Marilee Burge earned the pitching win. She scattered four hits and two runs (none earned) over seven innings of work. She walked four batters and struck out eight.
Tabor completed the sweep with a 5-4 win in Game 2.
The Defenders scored once in the first inning. Tabor countered with two runs off two hits and two errors in the fourth. Araselly Vargas bunted and reached on a base hit to drive in a run, and Fisk-Aguilar later scored off an error.
Tabor scored once more in the fifth. Dani Calder hit a leadoff double and scored off the bat of Stormie Bush.
Dordt tied the game with three runs off two hits and an error in the top of the seventh, but the Bluejays broke the tie with two runs off a hit and two errors in the bottom of the frame. Bush hit a walk-off, two-run single to win it.
Bush was 2-for-4 at-bat and had three RBIs.
Alecia O?Brien earned the pitching win. In one inning of relief, after inheriting two base-runners, O?Brien gave up no hits or runs, while neither walking or striking out anyone.
Benedictine?Tabor lost a pair of games Friday.
The Bluejays lost Game 1, 17-6, and followed with a 6-3 loss in Game 2. No further stats were available at press time.
Coming?Tabor (4-9) will participate at the Friends tournament in Wichita Friday and Saturday.
