Bluejay baseball drops 5-4 game

Out of four scheduled games last week, the Tabor baseball team played only one.

That 10-inning nail-biter at Oklahoma Christian University saw the Bluejays on the short end of 5-4 score Monday.

Tabor led 4-1 after the first inning, but it proved to be the Bluejays? only points of the night.

The Eagles, meanwhile, tied the game at 4 at the end of nine innings, forcing the extra inning and scoring the winning run in the 10th.

Scoring for Tabor were Wes Moody and Alex Hill?each with one run and one RBI, and Art Corona and Keenan Chanin with one run apiece.

On the mound, Anthony Mendoza pitched three innings for Tabor, allowing five hits and two runs with four strikeouts.

Brian Kowal also pitched three innings, allowing two hits and one run with one strikeout.

Jon Murray and Jacob Webb each pitched just over one inning. Each allowed one run. Webb posted three strikeouts.

Rounding out the Tabor pitching effort was Alex Mann, who allowed one hit in less than one inning.

Coming?Tabor was scheduled to play one nine-inning game at Northwestern Okla?homa State University Monday before facing off against Central Methodist College and York College in Topeka Tuesday.

Tabor will welcome Briar Cliff University at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference schedule will being at 1 p.m. Friday when the Bluejays host McPherson College. Tabor will travel to McPherson Saturday for a 1 p.m. start.
