Allen first KCAC finisher at Winfield

 Tabor?s Joel Allen finished seventh in the NAIA Mid-States Classic in Winfield Saturday with a time of 25 minutes, 1.35 seconds. He was the first conference runner to finish the 8-k course and was named KCAC Men?s Runner of the Week. Joel Allen led the way for Tabor College cross country runners at the NAIA Mid-States Classic hosted by Southwestern Saturday.

Allen?named KCAC Runner of the Week?finished seventh among 229 runners with a time of 25 minutes, 1.35 seconds.

Garrett Daugherty finished 18th (25:44.30), Bret Mueller 95th (27:31.62), Josh Richert 172nd (29:23.49), Nathan Vogel 190th (30:15.97), Dustin McClure 196th (30:42.00), and Jona?than Gutierrez 215th (32:50.95).

As a team, the Tabor men finished 12th with 372 points. Oklahoma City won with 56.

Brielle Lund led the women with a 38th-place finish among 252 runners. Lund finished the 5-k course in 18:56.96. Hannah Holmes was 79th (19:55.10), Kelly Gomez 122nd (20:43.68), Ashley Kemling 168th (21:39.16) and Jessica Vix 230th (24:49.33).

As a team, Tabor finished 17th with 496 points. Okla?homa Baptist won with 54.

Coming?Tabor will compete in the KCAC Champion?ships in Winfield Nov. 9. The women will run at 10:45 a.m., and the men at 11:30 a.m.
