Alex Ratzlaff signs with Nebraska

Hillsboro High School senior Alex Ratzlaff signed a letter of intent Nov. 11 to play volleyball next fall for the University of Nebraska. Seated with her are parents Damian and Amy Ratzlaff; behind them are Hillsboro assistant volleyball coach Jill Hein (left) and head coach Sandy Arnold. Ratzlaff was a starter all four years of her high school career and was selected as a first-team all-league performer by Central Kansas League coaches each season. Ratzlaff was a four-year Kansas Volleyball Association all-state selection and was named Class 2A Player of the Year as a senior. During her career, the Trojans posted a record of 151-22 with three state tournament appearances and two state titles. During that time, Ratzlaff amassed 2,152 kills, 413 serving aces, 126 blocks and 1,693 digs.
