3 Jays earn preseason honors

Three members of the Tabor College baseball team have been named to the 2016 KCAC preseason team.Alex Couch

Senior third baseman Alex Couch, senior outfielder Manny DeLeon and junior outfielder Jerrik Sigg were unanimous selections.

Couch and Sigg were members of the 2015 first team; DeLeon was a second-team selection a year ago.

Through 23 games, Couch is batting a team-best .424 with 36 hits. Couch ranks fourth in NAIA Division I in runs scored per game (1.44), ninth in runs scored (33), 29th in hits (36) and 35th in hits per game (1.6).

Sigg is batting .391 with 27 hits over 22 games. Manny DeLeon

DeLeon has a team-high 40 RBIs and is batting .422. He has 35 hits, including seven home runs. He ranks first in runs batted in per game (1.82) and total runs batted in, second in total bases per game (3.23), fourth in doubles (13), seventh in doubles per game (0.59), 10th in slugging percentage (0.86), 12th in home runs, 17th in home runs per game (0.32), 26th in hits per game (1.59), 33rd in hits and 45th in runs scored (25).

Tabor is currently 6-2 in KCAC play, 15-8 overall.Jerrik Sigg
