A shameless plug

Shameless self-promotion, but hopefully a successful attempt to connect an audience with the newest feature at hillsborofreepress.com.

Each Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., Marion County sports guru Dale Vogel and I will invade the live stream airwaves for ?Sports Brunch,? an hour of talk about Hillsboro, Marion and Marion County high school sports, Tabor College, the KCAC, the Jayhawk Conference, the Big 12, NBA, MLB and NFL.

We will broadcast live via ustream.tv on the Web site.

To listen in, select ?Sports Brunch (live audio talk show)? from the ?Breaking News? scroll. Wait for the ustream player to load (it may take a minute), hit play, wait through a 15-second commercial and enjoy talk, interviews, sound bites and more live from the Free Press newsroom.

For mobile connection on iPhone or iPod, download the iphone apps at ustream.tv/mobile/viewer. Visit the android marketplace for free app download for the android ustream viewer.

Links to the broadcast and iPhone/iPod ustream viewer app download will be posted on the Free Press Facebook page.

The inaugural show was broadcast May 19. The final 48 minutes are available to listen to at hillsborofreepress.com. All broadcasts will be recorded and made available on demand. The first show has more than 100 hits.

Thanks for listening.

Coming in Show 2 today (May 26), the Free Press has invited state-bound Hillsboro baseball coach Doug Dick and seniors Jacob Edwards and Tyler Ediger to the brunch table. We?ll discuss state seedings and matchups, as well as the NBA playoffs and Major League baseball.

The Sports Brunch broadcast will be available at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, with the program beginning at 10:30. To submit comments or questions for our guests, e-mail then to john@hillsborofreepress.com or dale@hillsborofreepress.com.
