The Bluebird boys traveled to Peabody for their last game of the year on Friday, Dec. 20 where they won 69-36.

Goessel waited no time getting up 16-9 in the first quarter before ultimately taking a 40-20 lead into halftime.

Peabody wasn’t able to make a run in the second half and Goessel coasted to their last victory prior to Christmas break.

Noah Schrag led the way offensively with 24 points, four assists and three steals. Joey Lapp chipped in 16 points, five rebounds, and four steals, while Caleb Burkholder had 14 points and six rebounds for the game.

Hillsboro

Girls basketball – The Trojans played their last game of the year on Tuesday, Dec. 20 at Council Grove. They won 52-13.

“The girls played well and really finished strong before break. We are getting better every day with a lot of new things being put in place,” said Coach Micah Ratzlaff. “It has been a fun group to coach and I’m excited to see how they progress throughout the year.

Savannah Shahan led the way for Hillsboro with 17 points while Lauryn Vogt chipped in 10 points and three steals as the Trojans leading scorers.
