Boys basketball – The Bluebirds hosted Peabody-Burns on Tuesday, Dec. 19. They won 64-39.

Girls basketball- The girls played Peabody-Burns at home on Tuesday, Dec. 19 and won 62-2.


Boys basketball – The Trojans had their first home game on Tuesday, Dec. 19 when they hosted a game against Council Grove and won 59-49.

Lincoln Wichert and Wyatt Plenert both tied for the game high in scoring with 19 points for the Trojans. Noah Beavers contributed 10 points and six rebounds for the game as well.

Girls basketball – The Trojan girls had their first home game on Tuesday, Dec. 19 where they beat Council Grove 51-7.

“The girls did a great job tonight. I didn’t feel like we were really clicking on offense to start the game but a lot of that is because our opponents throw so many different game plans against us. That will continue and we will continue to challenge this team to keep making the right pass and play with confidence. We hang our hat on the defensive end which is a blast to coach! It’s been a great start to the season and we will continue to work and get better,” said Coach Micah Ratzlaff.

Savannah Shahan led the way with 18 points and three rebounds while Zaylee Werth had 14 points, ten rebounds and a remarkable eight steals for the game.

Hillsboro is off for Christmas Break and won’t be back into action until after the new year.
