The Centre cross-country program boasts a new coach this season. Julie Keith?line will have a young team to work with as she takes command of the program this year.

The Cougars lost two seniors to graduation: state qualifier Nellie Kassebaum, and Cassy Thompson.

Four athletes are on the roster this season.

Sophomore CJ Thomp?son returns to lead the charge. Last season, Thomp?son turned in a personal-best 5-kilometer time of 19 minutes, 53 seconds.

Newcomers include senior Carissa Shields and freshmen Tan?ner Wiggans and Jordan Miller.

For the first time, girls? postseason race distances will be increased from 4-k to 5-k.

Keithline said her goal for the season is to qualify at least two athletes for state.

The Cougars? first race will be at Abilene Sept. 3.
