3 Bluejays earn preseason honors

Tabor College is well-represented on the 2014 KCAC preseason men?s basketball team selected by conference head coaches. Three Bluejays made the team, the most for any KCAC member.

Senior Andrew Thomas and sophomore Lance Carter were unanimous selections.

Thomas, a 6-foot, 7-inch forward was a second-team selection last season. Thomas ranked 13th in NAIA Division II in field goal percentage last season (0.596). He tallied 446 points (14.87 per game). Thomas led the Bluejays in blocks with 39 (1.3 per game), as well as in rebounding with 217 (7.23 per game). He had four double-double performances last year.

Carter
Carter
Carter, a 6-4 forward, received KCAC honorable mention last season. He scored 411 points last year (12.45 per game) and grabbed 191 rebounds (5.79 per game). Carter tallied 111 assists and turned in four double-double performances last season.

Biggs
Tabor?s third preseason selection, senior Dewayne Biggs, was Newcomer of the Year last season and was a second-team All-KCAC pick. The 6-0 guard led Tabor in scoring with 513 points (15.55 per game). Biggs led the team with 115 assists, ranking him 49th in NAIA Division II. He grabbed 119 rebounds.

Last season, Tabor won the KCAC tournament with a 97-90 overtime victory over Sterling, then lost to No. 3 Indiana University Southeast, 77-75, in the first round of the NAIA national tournament, for an overall record of 20-13.
