The Elgin’s fully renovated 19th century limestone building provides a unique venue to relax, unwind and reconnect. The elegant Victorian ballroom, as well as the conference room, fitness center and game lounge compliment the twelve historically-themed suites to create an unforgettable experience for its guests. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or looking for a weekend getaway, the Historic Elgin Hotel is the place to be. The Enseys purchased the hotel from the Cloutiers. The facility was renovated and now offers 12 suites, a new fitness center and game lounge as well as a renovated ballroom and conference room.

Looking to 2018: The Historic Elgin Hotel will be expanding products and services to include a gift shop, elopements, venue packages for weddings, reunions, business meetings and more, add-on services for guests staying overnight, tours and several community events. About us: St. Luke Living Center is a 32-bed (10 private rooms and 11 semi-private rooms) intermediate care facility adjacent to St. Luke Hospital. St. Luke Living Center is working to provide the residents with a comfortable, home-like atmosphere to reflect their personal space.

The facility is participating in a program called PEAK (Promoting Excellent Alternatives in Kansas) to achieve person-centered care.

Activities are scheduled daily for different interest levels. The residents are able to attend as many of the programs as they choose. Some of the activities include hymn sing, arts and crafts, puzzles, games and bingo. The residents are able to use iPads to play individual games and listen to music. The residents may suggest program ideas for future activities.

To encourage residents to maintain or improve ambulation and mobility, a restorative aide works with residents. Physical therapy and occupational therapy can evaluate and provide services through the hospital and set up an individualized program for the restorative aide to work with the resident.

The Living Center has a beautiful chapel for the residents to worship. Different clergy in the community come on Sundays to provide services for the residents. Hymn singing is held during the week with volunteers who lead the hymns and play the piano.

The Living Center staff is committed to the residents and their care. The longevity of staff is key to the quality of care that is provided for the residents.

Looking to 2018: The Living Center renovation and expansion project is set to get into full swing in 2018. Already, seven patient rooms have been fully renovated along with the attached hallway. New windows were installed throughout the entire facility.
