With the weather getting warmer and swimsuit season quickly approaching, many are starting to think about getting in better shape and losing some extra pounds from the winter. A place in Marion can help get you started on your health and fitness goals.

Diamond H. Fitness, LLC is located on East Main Street, near the aquatic center. It’s a 24 hour gym where members can get in anytime they wish with a key fob.

According to the member packet, the goal is to provide a safe, secure positive and enjoyable workout environment for all users of the facility.

The gym has two main rooms, one for weights and the other for cardio.

“When we built this, I wanted to keep cardio and weights separate for comfort levels,” said owner Amy Harshman.

There is also a yoga room and yoga classes are offered. The yoga class, taught by Shannon Hofer, is free to members and open to the public for $5 a session and a signed waiver. For times, call or go on Facebook.

The facility also has Wellness Wednesday from 5:15-5:45 p.m. Certified nutritionist Clara Ens conducts a weigh in and then shares anything from a recipe to fun nutrition facts to fitness tips. This time is open to the public as well as members.

“It’s a real fun and laid-back time,” said Harshman.

Diamond H. Fitness has been open a little over a year.

“We are still kinda getting our feet wet and learning things. We’re hoping to incorporate some more classes,” said Harshman. “We have all different customers at various levels. I have a lot of people from physical therapy over. They love the recumbent bikes. I have elderly and disabled folks to teens.”
