Marion Elementary gets some curb appeal after grant

Marion Elementary School got some added curb appeal after winning a grant for a landscaping company to come in and redo several areas. Laura Fowler Paulus/Free PressMarion Elementary students and parents pulled up to different looking school grounds last Tuesday after their three-day weekend.

“We won a grant to pay for landscaping. The company came in and did it in 24 hours. They started on Sunday and finished up on Monday,” said Principal Justin Wasmuth. “We have gotten positive comments from the parents. A lot of it all was outdated so we definitely need this.”

The school plans to do some more updates and other things, but this is a huge change already. Many students proudly talked about the changes and are excited about it.

“We have gotten a great response on it all,” said Wasmuth.
