Washburn issues local scholarships

Six seniors from Marion High School and one from Hillsboro High School have been awarded scholarships for academic accomplishments by Washburn University. They were among the 85 high school seniors recognized for their achievements at a banquet April 25 at the Salina Holiday Inn.

From Marion High School were Luke Bowers, Tedra Eis, Elisa Gayle, Florence, Isaac Gueter?sloh, Kyle Hett and Emily Svoboda From Hillsboro High School was Ashley Stout.

An academic scholarship indicates to students Washburn?s desire to give early recognition of their academic achievements. To be eligible, a student must have an ACT score of 21 and a grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
