Voth receives $500 education scholarship

Chrystiana Voth, a 2009 graduate of Goessel High School and currently a freshman at Kansas State University, is being awarded a $500 scholarship from Alpha Omega Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma for the 2010-11 school year.

The award is presented to a female high school senior or college student pursing a major in education.

Throughout high school and college, Chrystiana has been involved in numerous activities in and out of school.

While a student at Goessel High School, she displayed leadership skills in a variety of settings, including participating in an On-The-Job-Training experience at a local pre-school in downtown Goessel and helping as a student aide in the kindergarten class at Goessel Elemen?tary School.

This past year at college, she belonged to the Kansas NEA student program, worked at the Center for Child Development in Manhattan, and was a member of Navigators on campus.

In summer 2009, she was employed as a childcare provider at Hesston Intergenera?tional Child Development Center in Hesston.

At her church, she has been a children?s church and Bible school teacher, assisted in the nursery department and led the ?Living Prayer? church dance group.

Chrystiana is the daughter of Delton and Janice Voth of rural Goessel.
