The Unified School District 410 Board of Education approved employee contracts for the 2010-11 school year at its regular meeting Monday.
The board unaninmously approved the master contract that included a $625 increase to the base of the salary schedule.
Subsequently, the board voted to add a 1.28 percent increase to all administrative salaries and wages for classified employees for 2010-11.
The board also approved the classified contract information that clarified language regarding paid holidays, sick leave and retirement.
These actions followed the board?s decision to approve the amended budget, which increased monies for at-risk students and bilingual education.
Because the base state aid for pupils will remain at $4,012, Superintendent Steve Noble proposed the district add back the annual musical and drama productions previously cut from the budget.
?While all cuts the board considered in 2009-10 were difficult, this cut is a direct program for kids, and one that we all struggled with implementing,? Noble said.
?While the present budget situation for our schools is precarious at best, we are able to reinstate this budget and meet our budgetary obligations for 2010-11 without using reserves.?
The board approved a motion with supplemental positions for the directing positions to be paid with district funds as per the master contract.
