Trumpet player Andrew Toews will perform his senior recital at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, at the Tabor College Chapel. The public is invited to attend.
Toews, from Hesston, will perform the Trumpet Concerto by J.N. Hummel.
?I chose this piece because along with the Haydn Trumpet Concerto, the Hummel is one of the most standard classical trumpet numbers,? Toews said.
?This concerto displays a wide range of fanfares, lyricism and articulation.?
Toews is pursuing a double major in business management and biblical religious studies as well as a minor in music.
In his four years at Tabor, he has played dozens of trumpet solos while performing with virtually every music group at the college from concert band, oratorio orchestra to the concert choir.
He considers his musical talent as an opportunity to express his Christian faith.
