Three students from PBES qualify for Feb. 8 county bee

The top three spellers at Peabody-Burns Elementary School were determined from the 22 students who participated in the annual spelling bee Jan. 25. Earning medals as the top three finishers were (from left) Tyler Entz, third place, Gesaka Menjivar, second place, and Madelaine Beal, first place. The trio will represent PBES at the Marion County Spelling Bee at 10 a.m. Feb. 8 in the USD 408 Performing Arts Center in Marion. The public is invited to attend, but no one will be allowed in the room after 10 a.m.
