Tabor hosting homecoming week full of activities

Tabor will play it’s homecoming football game on Saturday at 2 p.m. against Sterling.Tabor College invites you to attend their 2018 Homecoming festivities on October 19-20.

The following are activities that Tabor will be hosting: 

Tabor College’s 2018 Homecoming musical “My Fair Lady” will run Oct. 18-21.

Friday, Oct. 19

8 a.m. Tabor College Alumni & Friends Golf Classic Sand Creek Station Golf Course, 920 Meadowbrook Drive, Newton, KS.

9:45 am Lifelong Learning in the Franz Heritage Lobby, Shari Flaming Center for the Arts.

5:30 pm Alumni & Friends Dinner/Theater Night in the Shari Flaming Center for the Arts, Regier Atrium.

Alumni Merit Award and Alumni Medallion Award recipients will be honored as well as the Class of 1968.

10:00 pm Druber’s Donuts for Alumni and Students. Wear your Tabor blue and enjoy free donuts. Drubers is located at 116 W 6th St., Newton, KS.

Saturday, October 20

8:30 am – 1:00 pm Information Table opens in the Student Center /Gymnasium lobby ticket booth. Pick up pre-purchased tickets or purchase tickets for Dutch Lunch.

8:30 am Golden Brunch with the President Franz Heritage Lobby, Shari Flaming Center for the Arts. For those who attended Tabor College on or before 1968.

9:00 am – 7:00 pm Alumni & Student Art Exhibit Ebel Art Gallery is open all day Friday & Saturday with a reception from 5:00 pm – 7 pm on Saturday.

9:00 am – 12:00 pm Nostalgic Photo Op. Have your photo taken in front of the Mary J Regier Building.

9:00 am – 11:00 am Kid Zone in the Campus Recreational Center, north of the Joel H. Wiens Stadium.

9:00 am – 2:00 pm CMBS “Displays of Yesterdays” at the Center for Mennonite Brethren Studies, located in the south wing of Library.

9:00 am – 2:00 pm Vernon E. Janzen Book Sale, “The Exhilarating Life: Living by God-Given Principles” in the Regier Atrium.

10:00 am – 7:00 pm Library Annual Book Sale. The sale runs through Sunday during regular library hours.

10:00 am – 11:00 am Music Fest in the Richert Auditorium.

11:00 am – 11:30 am Saying Goodbye to the Mary J. Regier Building in the Kliewer Plaza.

11:00 am Science Lecture; Dr. Douglas Graber Neufeld (G’92) Professor of Biology & Director of Center for Sustainable Climate Solutions, Eastern Mennonite University. “Science and faith together for the common good: Lessons from Mennonite work in Africa”. Located in the Solomon L. Loewen Natural Science Center – Room 103.

11:30 am – 1:30 pm Dutch Lunch in the Gymnasium, Student Center.

11:30 am – 1:30 pm 50-year Reunion Dutch Lunch in the Library Conference Center (elevator available). Please RSVP to (620) 947-3121, Ext. 1709 to reserve your place and pay for the meal.

2:00 pm – 4:00 pm Children’s Inflatables at the Joel H. Wiens Stadium.

2:00 pm Football Game: Tabor College vs. Sterling College at the Joel H. Wiens Stadium.

Halftime Activities; Host and Hostess named

5:00 pm Bluejay Bash & BBQ held at the Penner Clubhouse lawn.
